Courtney Jung is a professor in the Department of Political Science at University of Toronto. She holds a PhD from Yale University and was an assistant and associate professor at New School University for nine years. She has published two books, Then I Was Black: South African Political Identities in Transition (Yale University Press, 2000) and The Moral Force of Indigenous Politics: Critical Liberalism and the Zapatistas (Cambridge University Press, 2008), as well as a number of academic journal articles.
She has been a member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Fulbright, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Her new book, Lactivism, published by Basic Books, will be available November 24, 2015.
