Mr. Jeff Dess is a dynamic public speaker, author, poet, emcee and professor of Haitian descent. The native New Yorker known as the Disruptive Educator is also the co-founder of the educational platform and consulting firm, Trill or Not Trill. Jeff and ToNT co-founder Lenny Williams are releasing We Wear Kicks to Work: When Pop Culture Meets Leadership and Education, out this October.
Jeff has performed poetry and hip hop in the US, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. He is the author of five books of poetry and is the founder of the private poetry series The House of Haiku, which was featured in Ebony Magazine. He recently served as a contributing writer for the short film The Chair, which was featured in the Latino Hip Hop Festival. His latest text, Trill Motivation bridges the worlds of leadership, motivations and pop culture.
He is a TedX speaker who has delivered lectures, workshops and talks at over 60 colleges and universities including UCLA, Columbia University and Princeton University. Jeff has partnered with such major companies and organizations as Twitter, Buzzfeed, Madison Square Garden, Essentia Water, The Embassy of Haiti and The US Department of Labor and has been featured in The Root and Urban Cusp Magazine.
