Joan Marie Galat

Although she started making books at the age of nine, Joan wasn’t published until the age of 12, when she was hired as a weekly newspaper columnist. Today she is the international award-winning author of more than 20 books, including both fiction and nonfiction. Her works include a Canadian best seller—Dot to Dot in the Sky—Stories in the Stars.


Joan has presented to audiences across Canada and internationally to promote science, stories, and literacy, including a United Nations speech in Seoul. In addition to writing for children and adults, Joan operates MoonDot Media, a communications business offering broadcast, print, and multimedia writing, as well as keynotes and corporate training.
