Matt Zambrano

A graduate of the National Theater Conservatory, Matt Zambrano is an actor, writer, slam poet, and performance artist who never fails to connect with his audiences. His writing credentials include a one-man game show for 2nd-5th graders based on the Who Was book series for Penguin Publishing; all-ages, artifact specific, bilingual stories for the Denver Art Museum; and tRUNks: An All-Ages Live Comic Book that won him the Henry Award for Outstanding Children's Theatre and the Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Actor in a Children's show.

Matt Zambrano is a regular actor of the Broken Box Mime Theater Company in Brooklyn, New York, and has appeared in countless stage productions in New York and across the US. Zambrano now has developed some of his spoken word poetry into children's picture books in the style of Shel Silverstein meets Pablo Neruda. His works are imaginative and endearing, and offer a creative and lightly challenging experience for both children and the adults who read to them. His first children's book, Galapagos, describes the memory of the Galapagos Islands and the wonderful creatures that dwell there, showing that the unique and special things one explores are found within oneself, too.

Dreams is his second children's work, describing vivid, visceral, and vague dream symbols, encouraging bonding through expression of the imagination and recollection of dreams.
