Rob Bowman

Rob Bowman is a writer and educator living in the Palm Desert of Southern California. His writing has appeared in The Coachella ReviewThe Donnybrook Writing AcademyModern in DenverBook and Film Globe, and more. A short story “Everything Drains and Disappears” appears in Akashic Books’ Palm Springs Noir anthology. He has been awarded the Barbara Seranella Award—a grant for emerging writers of “great promise,”—and a Keep Arts Alive grant from the California Desert Arts Council for his nonfiction essay, “What We Sow.” He recently graduated with his MFA from the University of California, Riverside Palm Desert. His debut novel LIKE THE ANIMAL is an angst-driven, neo-noir comedy-of-errors about a wayward insurance agent turned PI who teams up with a firebrand femme colleague on a missing persons case. What ensues is a bit like the film The Nice Guys meets the Fletch novels, set in the rapidly gentrifying modern-day Denver—incidentally, Rob’s beloved hometown. Follow him on Twitter @UmRobBowman.
