Alex has been working in advertising and communications agencies for the last ten years. After completing his Bachelor of Management, Marketing with the University of Lethbridge, Alex moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba and complete his MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurship. Alex joined Winnipeg advertising agency Bulman Communications Group in 2007 as a creatively-driven account executive, managing a number of regional and national accounts in both public and private sectors.
From there, he moved into the role of marketing director at Think Shift Advertising, leading the growth of the agency by almost $5 million over three years. It wasn’t long before Alex moved into the role of Vice President Creative, where he oversaw a team of 35 people in content, interactive, design, video and digital marketing. In this role he also acted as the agency’s Creative Director, and led a number of communications and marketing planning efforts.
Alex’s experience in lead nurturing, business development and creative concept development helps him create highly effective marketing for clients. It was his passion for client connection that led him to start UpHouse – seeing an opportunity for marketing agencies to get closer to clients and work more deeply into strategy.
