Beverley Ann D’Cruz
Beverley Ann D’Cruz is a journalist, lapsed food blogger, and widow in recovery.
Her experience with grief has been explored in stand-up comedy at Second City Toronto and a personal essay in the Globe and Mail. She is currently working on a memoir chronicling her disastrous first steps as a young widow armed only with her dark sense of humour.
When not playing the widow card, Beverley can be found cooking for friends, which is her love language in action. She daylights as a digital content strategist, while not-so-secretly wishing her actual full-time career was experimenting in the kitchen. Her passion for food and culture has been captured with bylines in Atlas Obscura, Bon Appetit, and the Toronto Star.
Beverley was born and raised in Bombay, India, and now resides in Brampton, Ontario, with her partner and a toddler who is under the impression he’s the boss of the household.
