David Tromblay served in the United States Army and Navy before earning an MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Art with Stephen Graham Jones as his advisor. He was a staff writer for Season 1 of The Lowdown starring Ethan Hawke and the author of the novel Coydog (2025) and his memoir As You Were (2021), which Kirkus Reviews named as one of the best works of nonfiction for that year. David lives in rural Oklahoma.
