Emma has been a high school English teacher for over a decade. From teaching literature, to running book clubs for refugees, to doing the voices in her daughter’s picture books, stories have always been at the centre of her life.
It was her students who inspired her to start writing novels about her passion for the environment and the anxiety that comes hand in hand with climate change and plastic pollution. On top of YA fiction, she writes completely silly picture books; one was shortlisted for the 2019 Writing Magazine Award.
While she grew up in Ontario, she now lives in the southwest of England with her husband, daughter and dog, surrounded by stacks of books.
