Michael Rowe
Michael Rowe is the award-winning author of three novels, Wild Fell (2013)Enter, Night (2011) and October (2017), all currently published by Open Road Media. He is also the author of two books of essays Looking For Brothers (Oakville: Mosaic Press, 1999) and Other Men’s Sons(Toronto: Cormorant Books) and a book of interviews, Writing Below the Belt (New York: Richard Kasak Books, 1999.) His nonfiction has appeared in the National Post, The Globe & Mail, the Ottawa Citizen, the Huffington Post, SHARP, and The Boston Globe, among other venues. Between 2001 and 2009 he was a contributing writer to The Advocate. He won the 2008 Randy Shilts Award for Other Men’s Sons and has been a finalist for the GLAAD Media Award, the National Magazine Award, and the Shirley Jackson Award. In 2022, he wrote the Introduction to Rolling Stone magazine photojournalist Nate Gowdy’s monograph of the January 6th attack on the Capitol, Insurrection(Seattle: Pigeon Editions, 2023.) Insurrection won the 2023 Paris Photography Prize. Rowe’s latest book, PRIDE, co-authored with Angel John Guerra, was published by Douglas & McIntyre in 2024.)
