Michelle McIvor

Michelle McIvor is a journalist, ghostwriter and communications consultant. As you might expect from a born-and-raised Albertan, the first magazine story she ever wrote was about Canada’s reigning bull-riding champ. Since then, she has contributed to publications such as Maclean’s, Flare, Chatelaine, Best Health and Canadian Business. She also spent three years as a staff lifestyle writer with the Calgary Herald.

Writing in other people’s voices is another of Michelle’s specialties. She has ghostwritten two books; her most notable, Forever Terry: A Legacy in Letters, became a #1 national bestseller in 2020.

Her storytelling skills inspire Michelle’s work as a communications professional. (Having degrees in finance and journalism comes in handy, too.) Through her consultancy, Word Boutique, she helps companies big and small tell their stories.

Michelle lives in Calgary with her husband and two kids. To follow her adventures in writing and life, find her on Instagram at @_michellemcivor
