Shauna Yatsallie

Shauna Yatsallie is a proud member of Dene Tha’ First Nation, raised in the northern Alberta community of Meander River. She writes fiction rooted in Indigenous culture and hopes to bring those stories and perspectives into the heart of contemporary storytelling.

With a background in architecture and communications, her work is guided by structure and voice, shaped by her cultural identity and lived experience. She is based in Edmonton, Alberta, where she works as a Communications Coordinator for a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Indigenous women through community-based programs and services.

When she’s not writing, Shauna spends time with her son, Grayson, or planning her next trip, always drawn to new landscapes and the stories they hold.
