Theologian and musician C.A. Parker's SONG OF THE SAMURAI’s audio rights have sold to Kim Budnick at Tantor.

In this novel, a lone samurai monk journeys across Edo period Japan, encountering merchants, ronin, courtesans, spies, warriors, hermits, and spirits, on a quest to redeem his honor.

“I'm thrilled for the author to partner with Tantor in bringing the vibrant story of Kinko Kurosawa, shakuhachi master, to life in this enhanced audio production, which will feature shakuhachi interludes played by the author,” says TRF agent Natalie Kimber.

SONG OF THE SAMURAI is set for publication in Fall 2023.

Jessica Waite's THE WIDOW'S GUIDE TO DEAD BASTARDS, in which the sudden death of her husband—and unexpected delivery of a box containing his personal effects—leads a young mother on a tragicomic journey of growth and self-discovery, unearthing surprising revelations about the man she was married to for 16 years, has sold to Amar Deol at Atria, in a pre-empt, by Stacey Kondla at The Rights Factory (world English).

Author of BUGS FOR BREAKFAST Mary Boone's SCHOOL OF FISH has been sold to Sue Tarsky at Albert Whitman, by Stacey Kondla at The Rights Factory.

This children’s picture book is about a young girl whose class participates in a school program to raise salmon and release them into the wild, and is illustrated by Anastasiya Kanavaliuk.

"This is a picture book that introduces children to the importance of conservation and all the feelings involved in raising and releasing salmon into the wild while embracing the whimsy and compassion of the children involved,” says The Rights Factory agent Stacey Kondla. “Mary's writing is delightful and this book will become a valuable classroom staple."

SCHOOL OF FISH is set for publication in August 2024.
