FILM RIGHTS to author-illustrator of KING graphic novel, chronicling the life of MLK, Toronto writer and artist Ho Che Anderson's graphic novel, SAND & FURY: A SCREAM QUEEN ADVENTURE, about the relationship between a mother, her child and a female banshee, trapped in a town in the Midwest that won't let them leave, to Owen Kelly at AntiGravity Entertainment by Sam Hiyate at The Rights Factory.
I had https://paypalpokie.com open in a tab while reading about the film rights, and it made me think that handing over your story to a producer is a bit like betting on an outcome you can’t fully control. The mother, child, and banshee dynamic sounds like such a fresh spin on the scream queen formula, especially with that Midwestern town refusing to let them go. I’m curious to see how the adaptation handles the eerie intimacy between all three of them.
