Allison Stieger grew up in Alaska with a storytelling father and a bookworm

mother. After earning her degree in English lit, she became obsessed with

mythology after discovering the work of Joseph Campbell. This led to a master’s

degree in Mythology and Depth Psychology, and the beginning of a career as a

mythologist, speaking and writing about the powerful force that mythology can be

to our lives to anyone who would listen.

Her particular passion is around the moments of descent that happen regularly

throughout a human life, and the ways that the stories our ancestors left behind can

guide and comfort us as we die to old versions of ourselves and are reborn anew.

She lives in Vermont with her husband of twenty years and her two teenage sons.
