Brian Jonathan Troth
Dr. Brian Jonathan Troth is a scholar, LGBTQ+ advocate, and the author of the forthcoming non-fiction, The Meat Market, a deep dive into gay identity and community. Holding a Ph.D. from the Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University, Dr. Troth's research lies at the intersection of pop culture, medical humanities, queer studies, and French culture. His doctoral research on HIV/AIDS risk established his authority on historical and contemporary gay realities. He has presented his research across the globe with the French & Francophone Studies International Colloquium, the Australian Society for French Studies, and the CHCI Health and Medical Humanities Network. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and in Columbia University's Synapsis Health Humanities Journal, for which he previously served as the Gender, Sexuality, and Relationships Editor. Dr. Troth has lived in the United States, France, and Burkina Faso. He presently teaches and splits his time between Columbus, Ohio and Miami, Florida in the USA.
