Claire Cavanagh

Claire is currently seeking commercial and upmarket fiction and select nonfiction.

In fiction, she’s especially interested in all shades of romance, from sentimental yearning to seriously spicy and everything in between. She especially loves genre blends that push boundaries and play with expectation. In upmarket fiction, she looks for richly drawn characters and a strong sense of place.

In nonfiction, she’s interested in platform-driven pop culture projects with a distinctive voice, an engaged audience, and a fresh take on cultural conversations. She also loves gift books with spiky humor and quirky voices.

She’s particularly keen to discover more writers from Ireland and the UK.

Claire was previously in academia and holds an MSc. and PhD. in Applied Linguistics along with a Masters in Publishing from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Originally from Ireland, she has lived in Europe, Asia, and Canada and is currently based in Madrid.
