Johnston (also known as Queen Olivia Lucretia-Bourgeois Connie st Redfern III, but more of that later) presents a one-of-a-kind fusion of humor and perceptive commentary in their work. Equipped with a Bachelor's degree in Science from Victoria University Wellington, C.R.'s academic background deepens their comprehension and narration of the world. Working as a software engineer in the 2000s C.R. Johnston created drag character Queen Olivia Lucretia-Bourgeois Connie st Redfern III to balance the grey-beigeness of their corporate IT existence. As well as illustration and authorship, C.R. Johnston has had Queen Olivia credits in television, independent film, web series, advertising and magazines. They are a regular participant in Drag Queen Story times at local libraries and pride week in schools.
