A fan of everything spooky and indulgent, Kit Mayquist is a queer, Gothic writer who can be found in the historic shadows of Boston, MA, hunched over his desk with a sullen Persian cat in his lap and surrounded in antiques. He has a MA degree in Medieval History from the University of Iceland, and a BA from Portland State University (and if you ask him, yes, Stumptown will always have the best coffee).

His debut novel, TRIPPING ARCADIA (Dutton, 2022) is a Contemporary Gothic which follows a young woman as she recounts her role in the death of her billionaire employer through a series of poisons at Gatsby-esque parties in 21st century Boston, while uncovering the mystery of his drunken, poetic heir’s illness, and battling growing feelings for his disgraced daughter.

He is represented by Emmy Nordstrom Higdon at The Rights Factory.
