New Deal: PLAY IT RIGHT by Kamal Gupta

Hedge fund manager Kamal Gupta’s memoir, PLAY IT RIGHT, has sold to Jennifer Smith at ECW Press.

PLAY IT RIGHT is an alternately hilarious and scathing chronicle of Gupta’s unconventional journey from India to America and from computers to professional gambling. He spent a quarter-century on Wall Street, where his relentless pursuit of an investment method for the US mortgage market created an unprecedented 103-month streak of positive returns (without selling his soul to the devil).

“I loved Kamal’s voice as a ‘brown man on Wall Street’, so I jumped at the chance to develop and pitch his one-of-a-kind trajectory from Las Vegas’s biggest casinos into the corridors of global finance,” said Gupta’s agent, The Rights Factory CEO Sam Hiyate.

The name is not a promise. Cobb Can Move explores the terror of having basic agency questioned. As a survival horror game, it layers procedural unpredictability over core mechanics, so the way you walked through a door last time may not work again this time.
