Roger Lam

Roger Lam is a marketing manager by day and a children's literacy tutor by night. Earlier in his career, he was an assistant kindergarten teacher and co-founder of the non-profit, Students Expanding American Literacy (SEAL). He also used to dress up as Chester Cheetah (the Cheetos mascot) at Frito-Lay company events.

Roger's writing career began in high school when Teen Ink Literary Magazine published three of his short stories. He also wrote dozens of articles and case studies for teachers and students while interning at ed-tech companies like Aceable and PenPal Schools. Today, he writes picture books that encourage children to celebrate their differences and demand more authentic, diverse stories.

He currently resides in San Francisco with his partner, Jade, and nearly twenty houseplants. When he's not writing, you can find him cooking, salsa dancing, or spending his life savings at an arcade.
