Xan van Rooyen’s MY NAME IS MAGIC has sold to Joshua Dean Perry at Tiny Ghost Press.

Set at a Finnish school for the magically gifted, this new YA novel follows a 15 year old magically-challenged, non-binary student as they must save their disappearing friends.

"My Name is Magic is the kind of book I wish I had available in my childhood, and I'm thrilled for the world to explore the magic of Finnish myth and the heart of Taika and their journey," said The Rights Factory agent Lindsay Leggett.

MY NAME IS MAGIC is scheduled for publication in September 2022.

Lee Matthew Goldberg's THE DESIRE CARD series has sold to James Reasoner at Wolfpack Publishing in a five-book deal.

This new series of international thrillers mixes Elmore Leonard with a Tarantino edge. It explores the characters and situations around a card (and sinister organization) that promises "any wish fulfilled for the right price," and what we will do to survive when money isn't enough to get everything we want.

"I've loved working with Lee for over a decade now and I think this twisty thriller series is just building momentum,” said The Rights Factory CEO Sam Hiyate. “We won't rest until it's a full on Bourne-like film or TV franchise!"

THE DESIRE CARD series will begin with an origin story, IMMORAL ORIGINS, followed by PREY NO MORE, ALL SINS FULFILLED, VICIOUS RIPPLES, and the final as-yet-untitled book.

Lee Matthew Goldberg is also the author of THE ANCESTOR and THE MENTOR. The first book in the series, IMMORAL ORIGINS, is scheduled for publication in Fall 2022.

THE UNCAGED VOICE: STORIES FROM WRITERS IN EXILE, edited by novelist and screenwriter Keith Ross Leckie, has sold to Marc Côté at Cormorant Books. This new anthology is a compilation of works by refugee journalists living in Canada. With an introduction by Mary Jo Leddy, it features pieces from writers who have escaped arrest and torture.

"When Keith shared the stories from the exiles at the Romero House Refugee Shelter, I was really moved,” said The Rights Factory CEO Sam Hiyate. “As an immigrant myself, I'm counting on these new Canadians to help pave the way for a better version of Canada for us all."

THE UNCAGED VOICE features writing from:

Arzu Yildiz (Turkey)

Ava Homa (Iran)

Aaron Berhane (Eritrea)

Kiran Nazish (Pakistan)

Luis Najera (Mexico)

Pedro Restrepo (Columbia)

Ilamaran Nagarasa (Sri Lanka)

Santiago De Leon (Venuzuela)
